Dat allemaal maakt Sputnik3 binnen Nederland nu al een unieke band.
Loran Witteveen (1988) is a Dutch pianist and composer. In 2014 he graduated summa cum laude from the Conservatorium of Amsterdam. In that year he won the soloist prize in the Keep an Eye International Jazz Competition and the Dutch Jazz Competition 2014. He played in 2014 at the North Sea Jazz Festival and in the Concertgebouw. Additionally, the foundation VIP (Vereniging Improviserende Podia) selected Loran to do the Young VIP tour in 2015.
Raf Vertessen started playing classical music at the age of 6. At the music school in Tessenderlo, Belgium he studied clarinet and classical percussion. Raf discovered jazz music in his parerent’s music club listening to live music. In 2014 he graduated from the Conservatorium Amsterdam. Currently, he is playing with his trio ‘Sputnik 3’ and with various artists in the Netherlands and abroad.
Stefan Lievestro is ruim dertig jaar een gewild begeleider en is zeer actief als uitvoerend musicus in binnen- en buitenland. In 2005 won de bassist de prestigieuze Deloitte Jazz Award, waarbij de jury hem een ‘uitzonderlijk virtuoze bassist’ noemde. In 2007 was Stefan artistiek directeur van het Jazz International Festival in Rotterdam. Stefan is docent aan de Hogeschool Gent en aan Codarts te Rotterdam.
